Wild life and Man Animal conflict
Sir,Increased number of incidents of wild lives like Elephants straying into forests and attacking and injuring people in the far flung, remote areas in Bangalore and in Mysore division speaks of the conflict between wildlife and human population,In The Heart rendering scene in which a herd of 15 wild elephants which strayed into human habitant in malore and hoskpte outskirts of Bangalore and went on rampage for about for several hours as citizens watched helplessly, leading to trampling to four person being killed , injuring many leaving trail of destruction, death and devastation.
The loss of wild habitat due to encroachment and cutting of forest being prime reason leading to conflict between the humans and wild animals. The forests have unfortunately been cut down thus reducing forest area despite blanket ban on forest felling, thus reducing forest area .Population pressure on the forest resources has been increasing with increase in population and the resources are limited for both the human population as well as wildlife.
The department officials are facing impediments to drive out elephants due to the presence of a large gathering of local people.
Infact officials of forest departmnet face great impediment in driving these animals due to large gatIn fact in surrounding areas coming in elephant corridors ,all those living should be informed about the precautionary measures they should take during such instances. Also This state of affairs needs prompt action from the Govt. and Dept of Wildlife for the sake of safety of all those living in such surrounding areas, Right measures have to be started in this behalf right now so that further degradation of forest is stopped .
