Pact for peace, (Assam-Ulfa)
The Telegraph, 01.01.24, L.E

Sir - On December 29, 2023, a historic agreement was signed between the Government of India and Arabinda Rajkhowa faction of the United Liberation Front of Asom. One hopes that this peace pact will end the decades of insurgency that have ravaged the state. The cessation of hostilities between the government and ULFA will also allow business to thrive in Assam, especially in the tea gardens that have had to pay a heavy price for the insurgency. A new era of peace and prosperity might have been ushered in in the state.

NOTABLE YATRAS (PAD YATRAS AND RATH YATRAS) UNDERTAKEN IN THE LAST 100 YEARS:

(Notably, Yatras Including Pad Yatra and Rath-Yatra which have been undertaken in Last 100 years, have remained an integral part of the poll campaign strategy in the country except few like Mahatma Gandhi's Dandi March and Bhoodan Andolan led by Gandhian Acharya Vinoba Bhave which were undertaken for certain social causes and public awareness, these Yatras had a huge impact on the masses, it also has been proved to the great extent that these Yatras have left a great impact for the purpose these yatras were undertaken, these Yatras definitely have given political parties a chance to directly connect with the ordinary people during the yatras route).

These Yatras undertaken In the last century, all have been a turning point in the history, they all tried and achieved consciousness about a subject that affects the masses.

In 1930, historical Mahatma Gandhi’s Dandi-March was the longest march by foot (389 kilometres in 24 days) between Sabarmati Ashram to Dandi (Navsari) in Gujarat state, Bhoodan movement Pad-Yatra led by Acharaya Vinoba Bhave who travelled across India on foot aso had a great impact, NTR Rath Yatra ‘Chaitanya Ratham Yatra which is called the mother of all yatras (1982), L.K. Advani's Rath Yatra(1990) from Somnath to Ayodhya, Chandrashekhar who as Janata Party president took a nationwide Padyatra known as Bharat Padyatra (1983) from Kanyakumari to New Delhi, which made him popular among masses and ultimately he became the Prime Minister of India in Nov in 1990, Gujarat Gaurav Yatra (2002) led by the then Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and in 2003 which was flagged off by then BJP President Rajnath Singh, In Andhra- Pradesh, Veteran congress leader and Ex-Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy had undertaken a three-month-long padayatra covering 1,475 km, Former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Digvijay singh also took a 'six month long Yatra at the bank of Narmada named as the Narmada Parikrama but among these Padyatras is Epic Padyatra Bharat Jodo Yatra led by Rahul Gandhi.

Among the most notable padyatra which had a great electoral impact was in 2010, congress party's 320 KM "Bellary Chalo Padyatra" from Bangalore to Bellary which was led by Leader of opposition Siddaramaiah, this yatra had a great electoral impact, also this yatra heralded congress to Power in next assembly election 2013 with 122 seats.

There are three other highly Important Pad Yatras going on in different parts of country are, in Bihar "Jan-Suraj Padayatra" led by Prashant Kishore and in Tamilnadu Ek Mann En makkal Yatra" (My Land, My people), led by Tamilnadu BJP Chief K.Annamalai who is a former distinguished IPS officer and 3000 KM long Padyatra "Yuva Galam" (‘Voice of the Youth’) started on 27 January 2023, was led by a young US educated Telugu Desam Party (TDP) National General Secretary Nara Lokesh who is the son of N Chandrababu Naidu, the National President of TDP and who has been Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.

But most notable Padyatra was started by the celebrity election strategist Prashant Kishore "Jan-Suraj Padayatra" on 2nd October 2022, this 35 KM long padyatra started from Gandhi Ashram in west Champaran district on the birth Anniversary of the father of nation Mahatma Gandhi as the part of the Jan Suraj campaign, Prashant is continuously walking across the villages in Bihar this yatra is covering about 20 KM a day

Another important Padyatra was started in Tamilnadu was led by BJP Chief K.Annamalai's, "Ek Mann En makkal Yatra" (My Land, My people) where he is trying and working very hard to improve the presence of BJP in Tamil Nadu as the alternative to Dravid politics and young voters in Tamil Nadu seems to be greatly attracted toward him.

Also another notable 3000 KM long Padyatra "Yuva Galam" (‘Voice of the Youth’) was started on 27 January 2023, led by a young US educated Telugu Desam Party (TDP) National General Secretary Nara Lokesh who is the son of N Chandrababu Naidu, the National President of TDP and who has been Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, this Padyatra is a mass contact movement, there was massive impact of this payatra on Andhra Pradesh electorates, in the just concluded Andhra Pradesh assembly elections in 2024, TDP won with thumping majority it got 135 seats and its allies Janasena Party (JNP) led by popular Telugu film star Pawan Kalyan getting 21 seats in thee house of 175 .

Main reason of this yatra was to to engage the youth of Andhra Pradesh, encourage them to become active participants in the state's political process and join in the raising their voice fearlessly, this yatra succeeded in its mission, TDP forming government with its ally JNP party Chanderbabu Naidu became Chief Minister of state, and Pawan Kalyan became Deputy Chief Minister, Lara Lokesh became the minister of with the portfolio of departments of Human Resources Development, Information Technology, Electronics and Communication, Real Time Governance.

Most noticeable padyatra among these Yatras which got National attention is Bharat Jodo-yatra, led by Rahul Gandhi the former Vice president of Indian National Congress (INC) and veteran parliamentarian from the southern tip of India kanyakumari to Kashmir, This Epic Bharat Jodo-yatra has definitely managed to shift the political dynamics in the country Rahul Gandhi has succeeded in conquering its mission and has reaped a very good electoral benefits for the Congress party sepialy in the recently concluded Lok sabha elections 2024 where grand old party congress increased its seat tally from 52 to 99 and nearly a 3% surge in vote percentage from 19.49 % in 2019 to 22.23 %, with this congress party has developed INDIA alliance a force to reckon with.

While putting on record all the appreciation that Rahul Gandhi deserves for undertaking this Epic 150 days grueling journey Bharat Jodo yatra (BJY) (Unite India march)’ in Harsh winter walking average 24KM everyday, he began the Bharat Jodo-Padayatra from the southern tip of India Kanyakumari to Kashmir.

During these Yatras, leaders will mingle freely with masses, they would stop at road side hotels to have tiffin, Chat with people around, this will really affects the masses and it has been seen these yatras have paid the electoral dividends, His thuis epic yatra has definitely affected voters mind and Congress has seen victory in Himachal Pradesh Assembly Elections (2022), thumping victory in Karnataka Assembly elections (2023), Rahul Gandhi Bharat Jodo yatra also had a great impact on the outcome of the Telangana assembly election results 2023, where it received very good response in rural Telangana which largely voted for congress, congress won 64 seats out of 119 contested in Telangna assembly elections.

In the frenzied poll campaign for the Lok Sabha polls in 2024 which has paid a very good dividend for Congress Party in the 2024 Lok Sabha poll and it improved its tally from 52 seats in 2019 to 99 seats in 2024 Lok Sabha and 21.26% of the vote in 2024.

This remarkable achievement of the Congress Party in these assembly election of Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana and 2024 Lok Sabha elections are definitely the outcome of the 4,000 KM long Rahul Gandhi Bharat Jodo Yatra from the southern tip of India Kanyakumari to Kashmir which definitely signals a potential shift in the Indian political landscape and suggests that Rahul Gandhi's strategic overhaul of the Congress party has resonated with voters across the nation, The success is particularly evident when party won 99 sets in the 17th Lok Sabha as comparing to 52 seats in the 18th 2019 Lok Sabha and 44 in the 16th Lok Sabha in the 2014.

For years, Rahul Gandhi has been working to revitalize the Congress party, focusing on issues of social justice and grassroots mobilization, in particular through his Bharat Jodo Yatra and a call for caste census.

These Yatras Pad Yatras (Foot marches), Rath yatras or Road shows definitely have emerged as the most effective campaigning tool, with political parties choosing these mass contact programmes led by their national leaders or state leaders to win over the electorates.

Chander Shekahr who as the president of Janata party was exploring the best possible ways to mobilize the people's issues they were facing in their day to day lives like bread and butter issues and curve a space for the opposition parties after the historical victory of the congress party in the 1980 Lok Sabha elections when Indira Gandhi became the Prime Minister, at the time he set out on Bharat yatra, Indira Gandhi was at the peak of her popularity.

Also one of the purpose of yatra was to gain nationwide acceptable for the opposition to counter Indira Gandhi, by and large Bharat yatra was successful which drew the nationwide attention, at the time he set out on Bharat yatra, then Indira Gandhi was at the peak of her popularity having managed congress victory as the Prime Minister but Indira Gandhi's assanisation changed the political scenario in the country and all success strides whittle away with this tragic event.

NTR's, Pioneer of Rath yatras(1982)

In 1982, NTR undertook a statewide mammoth Rath Yatra, It was the mother of all yatras, as the ‘Chaitanya Ratham Yatra’ embarked on its 40,000 km journey which catapulted him to power in 1983 state assembly elections..

In this Yatra, NTR employed a novel way of campaigning and a successful strategy for his election campaign, an ancient and historical method "CHAITANYA RATHAN" (Chariot of Awakening) a political chariot to tour every nook and corner of the state, an old 1940 model Chevrolet was chosen as the mode of transport, it was converted into a caravan with cot, chair a washbasin with mirror and a stepladder, with public address system and lightings in place so that NTR can climb few steps and address the people through public address system in the van, The ‘Chaitanya Ratham’ (Chariot of Awakening) was a pioneering idea in India's electoral politics.

NTR's, the founder of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) was already an iconic figure in the Telugu Land then Andhra Pradesh and present day Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, it will be more appropriate to call his Rath - Yatra as the mother of all yatras, the ‘Chaitanya Ratham Yatra’ embarked on its 40,000 km journey. NTR as the founder of the Telugu Desam Party, toured the full state four times in nine months, throughout the period of the Rath yatra, the NTR actor-turned-politician will eat at roadside hotels, slept in his Rath (as his old Chevrolet was converted into a chariot) or under trees, took bath on the roadside, he returned to the state Hyderabad only after the Assembly elections were announced in January 1983.

NTR was so popular that People used to wait for hours in spite of rains or adverse weather condition to have the glimpse of NTR, they will camp on the roadside, with stoves, utensils and mats just to hear NTR, many a times villagers would post one person on the main road to signal them at the sight of NTR’s Rath and women would welcome him with an Arthi and some will even ask him to name their newborn kids.

NTR's entry in politics had an impact in the state and pan India within a short time, and several of his achievements have stood the test of time. According to several Veteran journalists and media persons of that time, it seems no exaggeration that NTR’s Rath yatra was executed in such a grand celluloid style which was matchless in terms of sheer drama, curiosity, and the people’s response it generated.

It is being widely believed this model of mass contact programme is now part of the routine of national leaders will engage in Road Shows or its variants during elections.

Organizing such a Mammoth 3750 KM and 150 days long Bharat Jodo Yatra by congress party in such a discipline and precision manner is not a small feat, right from conceptualization to flawless execution, the Bharat Jodo Yatra is a remarkable testament to the organizational ability of the grand old Congress party, fully furnished containers would be moving with the convoy which will stop at certain places for food and at night halt at certain planned destination, Participants will have food provided by the local unit of Congress party and then they will rest for a night and start next day's journey early morning (As per Hindustan times).

Bharat Joo Yatra(BJY) was so well organised that once it leaves the camp in the early morning after night halt, maintenance staff accompanying the yatra will dismantle the camp after the yatris or participants have left for the day’s march and move the containers to next destination and set it up at the camp there for the next night halt.

Right from Beginning of the yatra from Kanyakumari to Kashmir a crack commando team of about 50-60 Central Reserve police force (CRPF) accompanied the yatra for the protection of Rahul Gandhi and its convoy, besides the state police will accompany the yatra to facilitate the travel of the Bharat Jodo yatra from their respective states and look after security in their respective states.

It started proving the detractors wrong and Yatra had already made its mark as a historical event of Indian history which made a great impact nationwide.

Thus initially when the congress party started engaging with the congress workers and people at the grassroots level on a large scale, then it was seen outside electoral politics but as the tempo of the Bharat Jodo yatra started getting the momentum large number of people started getting attracted towards the Yatra, finally it started reaping the electoral benefits, result was seen in the 2023 assembly elections of Himachal Pradesh,Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh, congress party performed very well in 2024 Lok sabha election it increased it vote share and seats tally.

Bharat Jodo Yatra (BJY) had barely traversed from Kanyakumari (Tamil Nadu), Kerala and then entered Karnataka where BJY had maximum support and spent maximum days 21 days in Karnataka and Rahul Gandhi met diverse groups of people.

Initially Congress leaders in Karnataka were reportedly jittery about the yatra entering the poll-bound Karnataka, as they were not expecting the kind of response Bharat Jodo Yatra (BJY) had received in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. But at the end of the twenty one days of the Bharat jodo yatra(BJY) in Karnataka, they believed the yatra has already reignited Congress party workers and left a positive effect on electorate's minds of the electorate, who dreamed of a positive outcome in forthcoming assembly elections in Karnataka impact and response of yatra far exceeded expectation.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and several congress leaders believe the Bharat Jodo yatra(BJY) led by Rahul Gandhi has definitely reaped electoral benefits for congress and its impact was also seen on the assembly elections of Himachal Pradesh held in November 2022.

Impact of Bharat jodo yatra(BJY) was seen in the Karnataka Assembly elections held in May, 2023 where Congress won by the biggest vote share and seats after long 34 years, Bharat jodo yatra(BJY) had spent maximum 21 days in Karnataka which greatly galvanized the sagging moral of the congress workers and result is massive victory of congress party in Karnataka elections, seeing the massive support yatra got, which galvanized the moral of party workers, even if the Yatra had not passed from their respective places, local leaders from different parts of state who at some point joined the yatra, The Bharat Jodo Yatra made a lot of difference.

Through the Bharat Jodo yatra, we also saw the emergence of a more nuanced picture of Rahul Gandhi. This isn’t the Pappu (simpleton) portrayed on social media, it’s a leader with vision and gravitas

When Bharat Jodo Yatra was in its final lap, having traversed 14 states and 75 districts. It gave the message that the grand old party is alive and kicking, before the yatra kicked off on September 7, few could have predicted the outcome of which was a significant political gamble taking an appreciable portion of the party’s time and resources, but the response has been heartening, Whether it’s professionals, intellectuals, farmers, small businessmen, women, children or senior citizens, the party engaged with the people at the grassroots level on a scale and at a temporarely seen outside electoral politics. It has reinvigorated the party’s base, cadre and leadership, as they worked together, often in competition, to make it a success.

KARNATAKA ASSEMBLY ELECTIONS 2023, CONGRESS WINS BY A BIGGEST EVER VOTE SHARE IN LAST 34 YEARS:

(Congress attributes resounding victory in the 2023, karnataka assembly elections to Rahul's Bharat Jodo Yatra, which spent 21 day in Karnataka and covered more than 51 assembly constituencies of 224, congress won 36, as the Yatra moved further in the state, large number of people started getting attracting towards it, which definitely had the electrifying effect on the people, which laid the foundation for the victory of congress party's the electoral prospects, the resounding victory in Karnataka assembly elections made good for Congress party's Public image and the impact of the Bharat Jodo Yatra was the talking point amid celebrations).

Bharat Jodo Yatra, definitely was one of the most important factors that contributed to the massive victory for congress party in 2023 Karnataka assembly elections which led to galvanising the cadre, of the seven district through which yatra travelled, Chamrajnagara, Mysoru, Mandya, Chitradurga,Raichur, Tumkur and Bellary, it covered more than 51 constituencies of Karnataka out of 224 and won 36 which significantly improved the final tally of Congress to 135 seats, besides, the congress party concentrated more on local issues and projected a picture of total unity among its main important leaders like Veerappa Moily, Siddaramaiah, D K Shivakumar, Dr Parmeshwar and M B Patil and many other, in the last 2-3 weeks a hectic campaigning as done which was quite evident by the resounding victory of congress in these assembly elections. thus significantly improving its tally from 2018 assembly elections. AICC general secretary in charge of Maharashtra HK Patil also played a significant role in extending the invitation to several prominent leaders from Maharashtra Like Sharad Paar, Udhav Thakre join Bharat Jodo yatra.

Beyond the effect of Rahul Gandhi led Bharat Jodo Yatra, another second most important factor which contributed for the congress victory in 2023 karnataka assembly elections was, the role of indefatigable party president Mallikarjun Kharge who in spite of being in early eighties, played an important role in spearheading a cohesive and vigorous election campaign that captured the imagination of the Karnataka voters, he reinvigorated the party’s base, cadre and leadership, as they worked together, often in competition, to make it a success. He has always been a towering congress leader in Karnataka politics for about five decades, who has enjoyed a mass acceptance of a highly credible leader, hence Kharge along with the other senior congress leaders and district and taluka level leaders all actively contributed to the congress victory.

Victory of congress party in 2023 assembly elections is a huge shot in the arm for the Congress party ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha election, ordinary congress workers and leaders believe that the Rahul Gandhi led Bharat Jodo Yatra has made a lot of difference and has rejuvenated the sagging morale of congress party workers, after the yatra, Rahul Gandhi experienced a surge in his public appeal and this popularity had incandescent in the people’s mind.

Bharat Jodo Yatra by and large definitely has reinvigorated the sagging morale of the congress party workers in Karnataka, Though the yatra didn't pass through all parts of Karnataka, but its cadre and leadership, they all worked together, often in competition to make it a success of the Bharat jodo Yatra.

In the 2023 Karnataka assembly elections, Congress got a decisive mandate, winning 135 out of 224 seat with the vote share of 42, 91%, This 2023 Karnataka assembly election is the biggest victory for "any political party in Karnataka" after 1989 assembly elections when Virendra Patil became the CM, Congress had won 178 seats with a vote share of 43.76 percent.

In all states of India in particular in Karnataka, Congress workers and leaders were extremely jubilant as they were desperately looking for a beginning to revive the electoral fortunes of the congress to place it as the main opposition party for the forth-coming 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

The Rahul Gandhi led Yatra definitely managed to shift the political dynamics in the state. In a way, Rahul Gandhi succeeded in conquering the South, which paved the way for Congress victory in the assembly elections 2023.

Another factor which contributed congress victory was, the Congress had several veteran popular leaders like Siddaramaiah and DK Sivakumar and many more who knew the pulse of the people who had been working on ground for quite some time and already had galvanized the party cadre in all parts of Karnataka, several important leaders like former CM Jagadish Shettar and Former DCM Laxman Savadi who joined congress also contributed for the congress victory.

They extensively traveled all parts of the state, They mingled with the people on their campaign trail and talked about the local issues, Infact Congress leaders and workers who were desperately looking for the revival of their congress party worked hard at the booth level.

Congress Party's resounding victory in 2023 karnataka elections is greatly attributed to the Rahul Gandhi led Bharat Jodo yatra which stayed maximum 21 days in karnataka of the 150 days.

HISTORICAL WIN OF THE CONGRESS PARTY IN TELANGANA ASSEMBLY ELECTIONS :

(Congress ended the 10 years rule of Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) by secring 64 seats out of 119 seats it contested in assembly elections)

The Congress Party strikes a historical win in the Telangana assembly polls held in December 2023 by winning 64 seats out of 119 seat it contested in assembly elections, bringing to an end to the nearly 10-year-old rule of the K Chandrasekhar Rao-led Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) party, there was time when K Chandrasekhar Rao-led Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) party was so overconfident of its victory in forthcoming Telangana assembly elections in 2023, BRS had already started a footprint of expanding the party outside Telangana, in had changed the name Telangana Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) to Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) party.

2024 LOK SABHA ELECTIONS:

(Congress has come a long way and won 99 seats in 2024 Lok sabha election from winning just 44 in 2014 and 52 in 2019 Lok sabha elections).

In the frenzied poll campaign for the Lok Sabha polls in 2024, Bharat Jodo yatra has definitely played a decisive role in improving the political fortunes of the congress party, which paid a very handsome dividend in 2024 Lok sabha poll, it improved its tally from 52 seats in 2019 to 99 seats in 2024 Lok sabha and 21.26% of the vote in 2024, in fact congress party won seats in several states of India like Rajasthan, Haryana, UP, karnataka, Maharashtra,Telangana etc where in 2019 Lok sabha elections its presence was nil or minimal.

This remarkable achievement of the Congress Party in these assembly election of Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana and 2024 Lok Sabha elections are definitely the outcome of the 4,000 KM long Rahul Gandhi Bharat Jodo Yatra from the southern tip of India Kanyakumari to Kashmir which definitely signals a potential shift in the Indian political landscape and suggests that Rahul Gandhi's strategic overhaul of the Congress party which has resonated with voters across the nation, The success is particularly evident when party won 99 sets in the 18th Lok Sabha as comparing to 52 seats in the 17th 2019 Lok Sabha with vote share of 19.49 percent and 44 in the 16th Lok Sabha in the 2014 with vote share of 19.3%, Congress party's vote share rises nearly 3% to 22.34% in the 2024 Lok sabha.

THE CONGRESS PARTY IS ALL SET TO GET THE POST OF THE LEADER OF OPPOSITION (LOP IN THE LOK SABHA:

Congress Party winning 99 seats in 2024 Lok sabha elections, It is all set to get the Leader of the Opposition’s post in the Lok Sabha, a much-needed recognition of the strength of the principal Opposition party as it requires minimum 10% of Lok sabha seats to get the post of Leader of the Opposition which is equal to 55 but congress has got 99 seats, Rahul Gandhi Led Bharat Jodo Yatra has defeinatey contributed to this great performance of Congress party. The leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha is a very important position. as Leader of the opposition is involved in the appointments of various government offices.

RAHUL GANDHI's SPEECH AT RED-FORT:

Rahul Gandhi led Bharat Jodo Yatra (BJY) after traversing the large part of the country, when it reached National Capital Delhi on 24th December 2022, before the Bharat Jodo Yatra was to be concluded in Srinagar at its final leg, it already had covered 3,122 km from the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (Gandhi Mandapam) in Kanyakumari to the Red Fort in Delhi, it became very evident that Bharat Jodo yatra has stuck a great chord with the people across the nation and has acquired a richly layered political message that for the first time after 2014, it has challenged the ideological foundation of the BJP Government.

On 24th Dec, 2022, on the eve of Christmas, when national capital Delhi was experiencing a harsh and unforgiving North India winter, Rahul Gandhi addressed a large crowd outside the historic Red-fort, where he claimed that the yatra’s purpose is to unite India and he had not seen any hatred or violence among people during this marathon Padyatra.

Many Veteran political analysts agree on this that the Bharat Jodo Yatra (BJY) has resulted in a resurgent public image of not only Rahul Gandhi but of Congress workers on different parts of India, famous Actor turned politician Kamal Hasan also joined the yatra in Delhi in afternoon and addressed the gathering there, After the function at Red-fort got over, Rahul Gandhi went to Raj Ghat to pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the nation.

IMPACT OF BHARAT JODO YATRA(BYJ) WAS VISIBLE MID WAY WHEN THE YATRA WAS ON THE LAST LEG OF KARNATAKA PART :

In fact the Impact of Bharat jodo yatra (BJY) was visible the mid-way when the yatra was on the last leg of Karnataka part, It was the day 38th of Bharat Jodo Yatra, it had already covered 1000 kms and a massive public rally was organized by the Karnataka Congress in Bellary, which is just 60 kms away from historic Hampi, once the grand and prosperous capital city of the Vijayanagar empire, one of the glories of Indian civilization.

When Bharat Jodo yatra had come close to the first half of journey, more than half of distance of 3570 KM, picture had started changing completely and Bharat Jodo Yatra started gaining moral support from public when many eminent people to common people started joining yatra in a big way,

When the yatra ended at Srinagar, where Rahul Gandhi unfurled the national flag at the historical Lal Chowk, the Picture had already changed and the yatra had gathered a complete great moral capital.

The Bharat Jodo yatra led by Rahul Gandhi definitely had managed to shift the political dynamics in the state of Karnataka paving the way for the massive victory of Congress party in this month's 2023 assembly elections. In a way, the effect of Rahul Gandhi led Bharat Jodo Yatra was seen when it succeeded in conquering the South politically important state Karnataka paving the way for Congress victory in 2023 Assembly elections.

This yatra was definitely an attempt by the congress party to rally public support ahead of the 2024 general election which was just 10 months away.

"RAHUL GANDHI HAS EXPERIENCED A SURGE IN HIS POPULARITY ACROSS INDIA" AFTER BHARAT JODO YATRA:

After the this epic Bharat Jodo yatra, popularity of Rahul Gandhi has definitely experienced a surge in his public appeal and his popularity has become that of serious leader for whom people's problems are at the deepest of heart, he has become somewhat incandescent in the mind of people, a workaholic leader and a very caring human being, through the Bharat Jodo yatra, we also saw Rahul Gandhi's emergence of a more nuanced persona walking for continuously undertaking 150 days, 3750 Km grueling journey in harsh winter which is a no less feet.

What the yatra has brought to the fore is, Rahul Gandhi has definitely emerged as the leader, with a sensitive warm and caring heart and with commitment for the nation, who is intelligent, well-read and a well informed person who understands the real problems of the people of India, he believes in values that the idea of nation was founded on, he is seen as the symbol of hope of the large number of people from all section of the people in the country, he has promised the economic upliftment of the poor, better education and further improvement in healthcare.

Rahul definitely has the advantage of his of pedigree of being the member of Nehru-Gandhi dynasty who have given three Prime Ministers Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi, while several others have held the important organization posts like Soinia Gandhi was congress President and Rahul Gandhi was Vice president and have been Members of Parliament (MP), two of them Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi sacrificed their Lives for the country, Congress President Sonia Gandhi is his mother and late prime minister Rajiv Gandhi was his father who was the 6th Prime Minister of India, Rahul Gandhi is the fifth Generation of Nehru-Gandhi Dynasty, thus he has projected himself as a significant opponent from opposition parties.

Now the biggest challenge before Rahul Gandhi was how to rebrand the 133-year-old grand congress party, further to rebuild the cadre base and start winning elections unlike congress party's two historic defeats of 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections, finer point of the Congress is it already has presence in all parts of the country with Party offices across the country, and the cadre in every nook and corner of the country, also it is an attempt by the congress party to rally public support ahead of the 2024 general election which is just months away.

Finally Bharat Jodo yatra definitely has brought electoral success for the Congress party, it won three assembly elections and increased its taley in 18th Lok Sabha.

The Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Yatra (BYJ) from Kanyakumari to Kashmir that went through 12 states and two union territories took 150 days. The 3750-km long march, was a desperate attempt by the party to rally support ahead of the general election Rahul Gandhi would meet people during the day and would sleep in makeshift accommodation at nightsaw,he will address multiple public meetings during which he targeted the ruling BJP, after the yatra, Rahul Gandhi definitely has experienced a surge in his popularity,

RAHUL GANDHI LED BHARAT JODO YATRA IS A HUGE SUCCESS:

Rahul Gandhi led Bharat Jodo yatra which is definitely a huge success and credit must go to Rahul Gandhi for undertaking this 150 days 3759 Km Pad-yatra in adverse weather conditions of harsh winter, everybody even who don't agree with Congress party's ideology will agree that it is hard to deny that his Bharat Jodo Yatra is a huge success, further this Yatra boosted the sagging moral of the rank and file of Congress Party cadrer across India, congress party won 3 assembly election Himachal Pradesh,Karnataka and Telangana and in 2024 Lok sabha elections it increased its talley and vote share, there will be Leader of opposition from congress in Loksabha as it congress party has got 99 seats more the requirements of 55 seats.

Many people including several veteran journalists and politicians are strongly believing, for congress there was a urgent need for direct interaction to connect with the people, which Rahul Gandhi had begun doing, through this epic Bharat Jodo yatra which is part of this exercise to connect with the people, “What Rahul Gandhi is doing is the need of the hour.

Credit must be given where it is due, no matter what you think of Rahul Gandhi as a politician or his record as Congress president, it is hard to deny that the Rahul Gandhi led Bharat Jodo Yatra is a huge success.

Ek Mann, En makkal Yatra (My Land, My People), 2023.
(Led by K.Annamalai, former IPS officer and Tamil Nadu BJP President)

Another high profile Yatra undertaken this year (2023) is a six month long Yatra "Ek Mann En makkal Yatra" (My Land, My people) led by Tamilnadu BJP chief K.Annamalai, who is a former IPS officer, this yatra was started from the temple town of Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu, which was flagged off by the Union Home Minister Amit Shah on July 28, 2023, this yatra will cover all 39 Lok Sabha seats and 234 assembly constituencies in the State, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Mr.Annamalai and others walked for about half a KM from the starting point.

During the launch of this historical "Ek Mann En makkal Yatra" (My Land, My people), Home Minister Amit Shah said that 'En Mann, En Makkal' is to make Tamil Nadu free from family dynastic politics prevailing for over five decades and provide corruption free government and to improve the law and order situation in the state.

K.Annamalai as a BJP president Tamil Nadu unit has acquired the reputation of being a highly visible, charismatic and highly workaholics leader, In Tamil Nadu, large crowds gather wherever Annamalai goes, he has been fighting on the ground against all odds as Dravidian Politics have been the dominating force in Tamil Nadu politics since five decades.

K.Annamalai has been exposing the wrong doing of the DMK government with the facts and logics at all public platforms in Tamil Nadu but in the state all the most TV news channels & media groups are owned by DMK & other local parties leaders.

K.Annamalai is a young and dynamic person who was born in 1984 in Thottampatti village in Tamil Nadu’s Karur district, he is an Engineering graduate and with MBA degree from the prestigious IIM Lucknow, he always wanted to serve the nation, hence he appeared for the civil services examination conducted by the UPSC, he was selected for the prestigious Indian Police Service (IPS) and was allotted the Karnataka cadre of 2011 IPS batch, In 2019, he decided to step away from his Khaki Uniform and focus on pubic service and joined politics.

K.Annamalai has a highly distinguished career as an IPS officer of Karnataka cadre of 2011 batch, BJP wanted to project him as a sincere leader, he also wanted to focus on to serve the people of Tamil Nadu, hence he quit the prestigious IPS for clean and corruption-free politics in Tamil Nadu, as a IPS officer of the Karnataka Cadre, he was known for his outstanding work, he worked as the Superintendent of Police (S.P) in Chikmagalur and Udupi districts and DCP Bangalore where his work was an outstanding he was called as Singham (Lion).

Annamalai has definitely brought the BJP to the mainstream politics in Tamil Nadu, as earlier for over five decades Tamil Nadu was ruled by the Dravidian parties, Annamalai with his almost daily press conferences where he exposes about wrong doings of present state DMK government, he has ensured that the BJP party is regularly in the news.

So far people of Tamil Nadu, have seen the electoral politics of the Dravidian parties DMK and AIADMK, who have been dominating the political landscape of Tamil Nadu since last five and half decades (1969-till now, 2024), but it is being seen Annamalai Yatra has been generating a lot buzz and curiosity, lot of young Tamil Nadu voters have been attracted towards Modi's good Governance and are supporting Annamalai agenda of development and nationalism.

After K.Annamalai taking over as the BJP state unit President, the way BJP is expanding in all parts of TamilNadu with is remarkable work, now BJP is the part of mainstream politics in Tamil Nadu which was unheard before Annamalai taking over the reins of BJP in state.

Ever since K.Annamalai has become the state party president of the Tamil Nadu unit of the BJP, the party has become more aggressive and has taken up several people-centric issues, including taking up the corruption charges against the ruling DMK resulting the awareness among the people of state, as Padyatra is moving forward lot of people are joining it. he says he did not want to be known as a Dravidian politician.

Annamalai’s padyatra is also seen as a march to power that can't be ignored or dismissed so easily as the Yatra has got a very good response, lot of young Tamil voters are impressed with Annamalai, will Annamalai's yatra bring electoral benefits for saffron party BJP, yes it will help BJP to come to powers in years ahead, young and dynamic Annamalai is being seen as a leader for the change in a state which has been dominated by the Dravanian parties from 1969 till now 2024.

Young and dynamic leader K Annamalai is an excellent orator in Tamil language, when he speaks at any public platform he remains connected with the audience till the end, he can talk about Tamil history, politics and culture, he is young, only 39 years old and is an engineering graduate. K Annamalai attracts educated & Young people with his great knowledge & oratory skills, slowly slowly people of Tamil Nadu are coming out from Regionalism and linguistic politics played for electoral gains by the Dravidian parties DMK and AIADMK, Hence K Annamalai is playing an important role in this transformation politics.

K Annamalai is born in Tamil Nadu & he speaks in Tamil language. So now it is very difficult for DMK & other parties to call him an outsider & anti Tamil person. K Annamalai attracts educated & Young people with his great knowledge & oratory skills.

"Ek Mann En makkal Yatra" (My Land, My people) led by Annamalai, will be in 5 stages Yatra: 1770 KM long; there will be 10 Grand Rallies; A Union Minister will attend each rally.

In 1893, even Swami Vivekananda eminent social reformer, patriotic saint, intellectual and spiritual person India has ever produced had started and finished his historical journey to the US from Rameswaram.

K Annamalai is one of the most Charismatic Young leader in Tamilnadu that is why DMK trolls keep attacking him, he is definitely a young and rising leader of Tamil Politics, he will definitely become Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

If Annamalai is nominated to the upper house Rajya Sabha it would give a major fillip to the prospects of the BJP in the state as Rajya Sabha MP he can raise the issues of the state. Presently K Annamalai is contesting his maiden Lok Sabha election in 2024 from Coimbatore,

On July 28th 2023, Amit Shah the Union Home Minister flagged of this historical yatra, 'En Mann, En Makkal (My Land, My People) Yatra', from Rameshwaram, K Anamalai BJP Chief K Annamalai led this historic yatra for over six months from the sacred town of Rameshwaram, during the yatra h had taken the BJP flag and symbol to all the 234 Tamil Nadu assembly constituency

As in 2019 Andhra pradesh assembly elections, TDP was reduced to just 23 seats, many political experts said it was a dead end for the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and its leader N Chandrababu Naidu, but young Nara Lokesh took a challenge and started a 3000 KM long days padyatra which lasted for 226 days, in fact it was a game changer for TDP.

Even the effect of this historical padiyara "Yuva Galam" (‘Voice of the Youth’) was seen during Lok Sabha elections in the 2024 Lok sabha, when when TDP emerged as the 2nd largest allie of NDA, it won 16 seats out of 25 seats. BJP three and JSP got 2 seats, hus TDP became biggest the 2nd biggest allie of NDA, while ruling party YSRP managed to win only four seats.

There was a tremendous impact of this padyatra on the Andhra Pradesh electorates, his padyatra helped TDP to reconnect with people,

When his father Chandrababu Naidu was facing legal cases, Lokesh had suspended his payatra for some time on September 9, 2023, when Lokesh was not allowed to meet his father Chandrababu Naidu, when he was arrested, later he began sit in protest at Yuva Galam Padyatra camp, again after some time he continued the long padyatra on November 27th 2023 from Razole constituency in Konaseema district in Andhra Pradesh

It was quite visible during the 226 days Padyatra where he will interact with people patiently and listen to their problems, he is postgraduate in business administration(MBA) from a leading US university Stanford University, he was also looking after the family business Lokesh was an executive director in his family business entity Heritage Foods, Nara Lokeshhe had plunged into active politics in June 2014, when TDP chief and his father Chandrababu Naidu became the chief minister of residuary Andhra Pradesh after the greater Andhra pradesh was bifurcated into two Telugu states Andhra Pradesh and Telangana,

Looking at Nara Lokesh increasing popularity in state, and for his contribution to the party coming to power through “Yuva Galam” (voice of the youth), padayatra (foot rally), he has been given a key portfolio and greater responsibility in Telugu Desam Party affairs and became the minister with key the portfolio of departments of Human Resources Development, Information Technology, Electronics and Communication, Real Time Governance.

Only few leaders in Karnataka can boast that they have rubbed shoulders with Yeddiyurappa, A political stalwart in their nascent days, Araga Jnanendra is one among them.

Y S Rajasekhara Reddy(YSR) padayatra(2003)

Congress stalwart Y S Rajasekhara Reddy(YSR) gave padayatra politics a new meaning, April 9th, 2003 marked a significant date in the history of erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh politics when then senior Congress Legislature Party leader Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy embarked on a three months, 1,475 km padayatra across several districts of state during the very hot summer months to highlight the drought-related problems in the State and the ruling Telugu Desam Party’s apathy towards the farmers, this padyatra was as a part of his election campaign.

He showed that the how Padayatras can be successfully harnessed for the political and electoral gain in the Telugu land, this Padyatra helped to unseat the Chief Minister N.Chndrababu Naidu in the 2004 Andhra Pradesh assembly elections, this Padyatra also became a turning point in his political career and propelled him to power in the Assembly elections held a year later in the united Andhra Pradesh, during three month padyatra,he managed to strike a chord with the people and congress swept to power in the 2004 assembly elections, winning 185 of the 294 seats in the Assembly and Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy became the 14th chief minister of the united Andhra Pradesh in 2004 assembly elections, the Congress’ victory was largely attributed to the goodwill that YSR’s Padytra had generated which was undertaken in the most adverse very hot summer.

YSR will remain in the heart of the Telugu people forever, His style of work for, the decisions he took in terms of politics and welfare schemes had greatly influenced the Telugu people at large, he was a leader connected with the masses like no other leader, the rule of the late chief minister of the erstwhile undivided Andhra Pradesh, will be remembered for several important welfare government schemes he launched, empowerment of the farmer and the weaker sections of society. He was the 14th chief minister of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh (2004 to 2009).

Several Congress insiders and political analyst agree that this Padyatra which was undertaken in hot summer enabled Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy (YSR) achieved twin objectives: Highlight the TDP government alleged failure to take adequate drought relief measures and project him as an undisputed contender for the chief minister and post congress wins the assembly elections.

Historical Supreme court judgement on revocation of article 370 on Kashmir

(i)End of special status, The Tribune,13th Dec,2023,L.E,

Refer to ‘SC verdict on Art 370’; the unanimous judgment by the Supreme Court, affirming the Centre’s decision to abrogate Article 370, is a milestone. In contemporary India, two dates stand out: August 5, 2019, when the government revoked Article 370, and December 11, 2023, when the SC upheld the Centre’s decision. These will be remembered as historic occasions when past errors were rectified by the government.

Now, J&K stands on a par with the rest of India. In the coming years, one can expect a significant boost in J&K tourism.

Historic Judgement of Supreme Court upholding the abrogation of Article 370 of J and K is welcome.

Sir, Unanimous judgement passed by the five-judge constitution bench of the supreme court of India led by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, upholding the Centre's decision to abrogate Article 370 is a historic, which had granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir, this Apex court judgment has vindicated the constitution validity.

Further Supreme court bench said Article 370 of the Constitution was enacted due to wartime conditions prevailing in J and K during that period and was meant for the transitional purpose, hence it was a temporary provision and all the rules applied to other states will also be applicable to J and k states, the president of India has the power to revoke it.

The SC Judgement validates the abolition of Article 370 for Jammu and Kashmir and forming the Ladakh a separate union territory by the act of Parliament on Au,5,2019---definitely make one big difference to the geopolitics of Kashmir and ends the Delhi continuous defensive strategy since 1990, when worst turmoil moment was seen in Kashmir.

In the contemporary history of the post-Independent India, two dated stands out, 5th Aug, 2019 when Government revoked the special status granted under Article 370 to J&K and 11th Dec,2023 when Supreme court upheld the Centre's decision to abrogate Article 370, these are historic dates, when blunders of the past were corrected by the government and subsequently upheld by the highest court of India, It was a resolute decisions of PM Modi and Home minister Amit Shah Government which made it possible.

SC has done well to ask Election Commissions to lay down the roadmap for the restoration of the political process in Jammu and Kashmir and hold assembly polls by September 30 next year, and hand over the administration to an elected government.

As there is no better way to restore peace than by involving the common people in the political process, further SC advice to the union government to restore the statehoods of J&K is praiseworthy.

The SC’s endorsement of the Centre’s repeal of Article 370, holds out the clear message to various stakeholders to accept the new paradigm and move on, now Jammu and Kashmir is on par with the rest of Indian like other states and it does not hold any internal sovereignty, in coming years we can expect a significant boost to Kashmir tourism, which is a lifeline for the J&K economy.

Liquor Deaths,
The Pioneer, 4th Aug, 2020, L.E

Sir — It is unfortunate that more than 85 people died and many others were taken ill due to the consumption of spurious liquor in Punjab. The sale of illicit liquor is a thriving business not only in Punjab but in many parts of the country. In fact, India remains one among the countries with the highest number of alcohol-related deaths. And whenever such a tragedy unfolds, Governments react by imposing a ban on the sale of liquor.

They fail to either bring tighter regulations or crack down on dens, which operate without a licence as they fulfil a demand while making huge profits. People take to illicit liquor as they cannot afford to buy licensed brands. Spurious liquor does not attract taxes or duties and, thus, comes cheap.

The Punjab Government must set a precedent by constituting a Special Investigation Team which must track down all bootleggers in the State. The Union Government, too must come up with a multi-pronged plan to curb the sale and consumption of toxic alcohol.

Sir — This refers to the editorial “For the sake of law” (November 7). Lawyers are protectors of the laws of the land while the police ensure implementation of those very laws on the ground. Both have a duty to uphold the sanctity of law. However, the ongoing battle between these two arms of the justice system, not just in the national Capital but in other parts of the country like Rajasthan and Haryana, is shocking and embarrassing to watch.

Thousands of Delhi Police personnel, along with their families, went on an unprecedented protest on Tuesday at the Delhi Police headquarters against the assaults on them in various courts. There is something very wrong somewhere if the protectors of the people want protection themselves. Senior lawyers and police officers should come together and sort out this matter amicably as the reputation of lawyers and the police force is at stake here. However, at the end of the day, it is the litigants who are the biggest sufferers in this unbecoming tussle, as they have to wait for months for their cases to be heard in court. It was appalling that lawyers locked litigants out of all six district courts as they continued their strike for the third consecutive day on Wednesday.

The apex court should take cognisance of this mater immediately and take action against all erring parties so that such embarrassing sights of lawyers and policemen brawling on the roads while the public looks on in horror, are not seen again.

Sir - This refers to the editorial, "Wake-up calls" (October 25). It is surprising that the results of the Lok Sabha elections and the Assembly polls in Maharashtra and Haryana are poles apart, especially because the two sets of elections were held within months of each other.

The BJP was expected to win the polls in both States with ease. But the results seem to have given a new lease of life to the grand old party instead. There are several takeaways here, the foremost being the fact that democracy in India is still alive. The voters have shown that they are smarter than the politicians as they have rejected most of the turncoats who left their party for greener pastures. Some of them are political heavyweights such as Udayanraje Bhosale, a descendant of Shivaji and a two-time parliamentarian of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) from Satara.

The results also show that veteran leaders like NCP chief Sharad Pawar and Bhupinder Singh Hooda still hold great credibility among the electorate and that the idea of Opposition continues to have a place in our democracy. Opposition leaders should work together to resolve issues that concern the masses instead of criticising one another all the time.

Sir — The pelting of stones at a school bus in the district of Shopian in Kashmir was a heinous act. It should have been unequivocally condemned by everyone, including separatist leaders such as Syed Ali Geelani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq. Violence aimed at children calls for collective concern. Politicians and members of civil society must rise above their geo-political interests to speak out against it.

The state government must take steps to ensure that no more school buses are targeted in this manner. A thorough, speedy probe into the incident should be conducted and the culprits must receive exemplary punishment.

Separatist leaders like Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq should take a conscientious call and condemn these barbaric acts unequivocally.

The incident also calls for a collective concern and strategy on the part of civil society members and also the politicians across party lines to put aside their differences to bring an end to the heinous crime of stone-pelting. Simultaneously, authorities must take steps to ensure that no more schools buses are targeted and a thorough probe should be launched to punish those responsible for this inhuman crime.

The Proposed attempts by the center to shift the "AeroIndia" out of Bangaluru to Lucknow are shocking (state big guns roar in unison, air show ours DC, Aug 14,) Bangaluru is now synonymous with the airshow and the I.T capital has a rich experience in conducting the biennial event successfully, Also Bangaluru is a hub of aviation and defense equipment manufacturing and has a right infrastructure to host foreign dignitaries.

The mega event may loose its sheen if it is shifted to a lesser known city without proper infrastructure, Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswami lead an all party delegation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Pressure him not to shift this event out of Bangaluru.

It is disheartening to see the skyrocketing prices of onion. The irreplaceable vegetable is being sold at Rs 130 to 160 per kg — which is much beyond the capacity of even middle class. Also, there is a huge disparity in wholesale and retail prices, which indicates that traders and middle-men are taking advantage of short supply of onion and farmers are not getting any benefits.

The central government must issue advisory to all state governments to act against hoarders, there should be a limit on holding stock of onion by retailers.

BURNING OF SCHOOLS IN KASHMIR
Soft target The telegraph-8th Nov,2016,L.E.

Sir - The burning of schools in Kashmir has shocked the entire nation ("Save schools: J&K court", Nov 1). Such acts of violence must be strongly condemned. Schools are places where children build their future and prepare themselves for employment. The state already lacks an adequate number of schools; these acts of terror will compel students to drop a year or two until the schools are rebuilt and reopened.

Citizens should collectively think of ways to end such criminal activities. By carrying out such acts of violence, separatists lure the youth into militancy. Kashmir has seen generations of youngsters being led astray. Muzaffar Wani, the father of the Hizbul Mujahideen commander, Burhan Wani, whose death caused great unrest in the Valley recently, has expressed his anguish over the burning of schools. He has made a fervent appeal to the perpetrators to refrain from targeting educational institutions.

The police must take steps to ensure that no more schools are targeted in this manner. Adequate protection should be provided to all schools in Kashmir, and a thorough and speedy probe should be conducted to punish those who are responsible for the heinous crimes.

Sir,Refer to the editorial ‘Rajasthan’s questionable law’ (October 23); the Rajasthan Government’s ordinance will not only institutionalize corruption, but will also have far-reaching consequences, as officials and others protected under this ordinance would get away with wrongdoings. Restrictions on the media to report corruption-related matters till sanction is given is unfortunate and will lead to a new kind of censorship. It seems that the only logic behind this law is to hide scams and save those involved.

The amendments to the existing law are wholly unjustified. If this ordinance is not withdrawn immediately, people will go to courts and there will be a massive democratic backlash.

The Aam Admi Party’s convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s political persona and charisma seem to have influenced many of his contemporaries.

Kejriwal has repeatedly emphasised the need to end VIP culture. Following Kejriwal, Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundara Raje has reduced her security considerably and decided to stay in a smaller house.

The Kejriwal government has demanded an audit of power companies and reduced power tariff by half. The Haryana government has announced a Rs200 rebate on power bills, and there is a hue and cry to reduce power tariff in Maharashtra. Soon all states in India will ask for audit of power utilities and reasonable power tariff.

The point is that these new men have shown in their first few days what can be done if elected representatives are honest and responsive to people’s needs.

The government should talk to the the aggregators and fix a rate that is acceptable to both parties. Drivers, too, should be trained adequately. In Bangalore, many drivers cannot speak English and depend on the global positioning system to reach their destinations.

Instead of addressing grievances by email, local call centres should be opened to look into complaints.

Attack on African Students unjustified,

Sir, Death of an 23-year-old African national from Congo over an argument is extremely saddening and brings to fore the our intolerance towards these African students who come to India for higher studies as there are less educational opportunities in most of the african countries.

Worldwide Indians are known as tolerant and hospitable people and friends of Africa, we must treat these foreign guest with utmost respect, this attack brings bad name for India. There may be some cultural difference but it does not justifies attack on these students who come to our country for 3-5 years to study and also contribute to indian economy.

India has a big stake in Africa economy, millions of Indians are settled in various African countries for 60-70 years, after India-Pakistan partitions, large number of Indians started business in Africa, specially Sindhi and have prospered, Africa is still not developed, and is future continent of economic activity, India has large exports to African countries, IT is another area which has tremendous potential in coming days,

This attack on African students can lead to global outcry and will have big repercussion as large number of Indians are settled in entire African continent, Hence Indian establishment shment should wake up quickly to stop the potential damage from these incidents, short term damage could be African students shifting to another country for education and long term affecting India's exports,it will have big impact as China is waiting to grab the opportunity.

Governmnet with sense of urgency in with view to trade and economic ties and take a no nonsense approach towards these incidence and instruct all state governmnet to ensure the safety of African students.
