Sir - The suggestion made by the Chief Justice of India, J.S. Khehar, to settle the Ramjanmabhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute amicably is the right one. The warring parties have insisted on a judicial verdict in the past, but that might cause further delays in the resolution of the case. Besides, there is no guarantee that the parties would accept the verdict.

One hopes that the settlement of the dispute will usher in an era of communal harmony and national integration. In the year 2017, citizens ought to be more mature than they were in 1992. The new generation does not want conflict; it wants economic development for all. Twenty-five years have passed since the Babri Masjid was demolished. We must all move on now. A settlement of the matter that is acceptable to all might lead to the resolution of other communal conflicts.
