Police should insist that banks management should hire only those private security agencies who strictly follow security norms and have trained man-power and infrastructure like customized security vehicles(CIVIC CV) for transporting, large cash, Also, it should be made mandatory for banks to ask police security during transfer of large cash.

Sir, The RBI decision to rein the banks who employ recovery agents who harass borrowers is a welcome move. Recent reports on borrowers of some financial institutions being harassed by loan recovery agents has brought into the limelight deeper and darker undersides of these financial institutions. In fact no one is exploiting the perceived weakness the law with immunity than these banks.

Sir - The recent incident of bank heist in the national capital - in which the driver of a cash transit van fled with about Rs 22.5 crore - reveals the poor standard of security checks in the banking sector. Banks need to spruce up their cash transportation system. It will be better if private banks employ ex-army men to provide security instead of outsourcing this job.

The Reserve Bank of India must intervene - it should carry out an intensive audit of the existing system and direct banks to take necessary steps to make their security arrangements foolproof.
